Fabricating To Specifications

CON-SERV INC. is an AISC Simple Bridge Fabrication-certified plant, and also boasts an AISC Sophisticated Enclosed Paint Endorsement. We are approved for fabricating structural steel to accepted industry standard guidelines. Our in-house Quality Control System ensures “to-spec” finished product quality. The electronic system monitors the production cycle from the receipt of incoming raw materials through work-in-progress milling, grinding and polishing to shipping your finished product. Our Quality Control System has been accepted by many major engineering and construction firms in the United States. These include Walter P. Moore, Jacobs Engineering, Fluor, Wood Group, Black & Veatch, Stone & Webster, TechnipFMC, AECOM, KBR, Thornton Tomasetti, HOK, and KPFF Consulting Engineers.

Precision Welding

Experienced CON-SERV welders perform detailed MIG, TIG and STICK welding on all steels, including stainless steels. In addition, state of the art robotic welding can be performed when higher throughput is required.

Painting & Metallizing

Our in-house spray paint booth carries an AISC Sophisticated Enclosed Paint Endorsement and enables CON-SERV to offer your choice of quality wet coatings, heat-activated powder coatings or metallized finishes in your choice of color.

Prompt Shop Drawing Approval

The CON-SERV Engineering Team has 37 years of experience in coordinating fast approvals of shop drawings to keep your project on schedule. CON-SERV experts will review your drawings, suggest and make any necessary design revisions, and submit them for project owner approval in a timely manner.

CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Bridge Mill

CON-SERV’s unique 96” Bridge Mill can save you money and time by fabricating large, custom structural steel components in addition to your bearing order. Almost nothing is too large or too complex.

PDH/CEU Courses

CON-SERV is developing a program of free Certified PDH and CEU Courses for Professional Engineers and architects. A certified instructor will come to your site. Engineers may earn Professional Development Hours in Bearings Science for bridge decks and architectural applications.

Contact Chelsi Sapp, 843.546.1044 Ext. 123 to register for one of our continuing education courses.

Testing Services

CON-SERV offers you the use of one of the largest certified multi-functional test presses in the Eastern US:

  • 5,000,000 pounds vertical compression for an unlimited period of time
  • Static horizontal load of 1,250,000 pounds
  • Dynamic horizontal load of 300,000 pounds
  • Digital results can be printed, saved to a USB or electronically transmitted
  • Coefficient of Friction test capabilities
  • Rotation Test (Proof Load Test – squeeze bearing and hold) capabilities

All measuring equipment is calibrated annually by independent agencies. The test frame is also ASTM E4 certified up to 5,000,000 pounds (2,500 tons) for compression proof load types of testing.

Webinars

CON-SERV conducts a series of webinars in Support Bearings Science each year through our media partners such as Roads & Bridges magazine.

This is a one hour presentation on our structural slide bearing elements to benefit your engineering team. Webinars include information on the typical application, design, and specification for our slide bearing elements. Con-Serv Inc will award (1) PDH/CEU credit to each engineer in attendance.

To see our schedule of upcoming webinars or to register for an upcoming session, contact Chelsi Sapp, 843.546.1044 Ext. 123.
